i was inspired by a debby schuh album i saw on her blog and right away knew it would be perfect for lucy's cinderella birthday memories to be kept in. luckily i had two of the 1950's cinderella little golden books and the party was more of a vintage cinderella party so it was perfect!
i love how the book turned out. i used maggie holmes papers and embellishments along with some other odds and ends.

a dozen years...
chris and i celebrated 12 years of marriage on june 18th, 2014. now i know 12 years isn't one of those "milestone" years that you throw a party and such...but considering almost losing him last year to diabetes and a lot of other ups and downs over the past year i wanted to celebrate. i started thinking about a few months ago and planning. it came to my attention one morning that 12 years was a dozen and that egg cartons hold a dozen eggs. hmmm my wheels started turning.
i did some research and also found out that every anniversary has a flower. i knew they had traditional and modern gifts but i didn't know they had a flower. i was happy to find out the 12th anniversary flower was a peony! my favorite! so i started saving egg cartons and made arrangements to get some peonies. we had dessert under the stars, which ended up moving inside due to bugs (yuck!). i had spray painted the egg cartons and decorated them with some maggie holmes papers and washi tape and a little crate paper.
as a gift for chris i went to the tackle and fishing isle in wal-mart, so not my area! and picked up 12 tackles/weights/hooks to put in one of the egg cartons. i thought it was quite clever, lol
this was the egg carton with the fishing stuff inside
old fashioned root beer in a vintage refrigerator drawer
a dozen mini cupcakes
pictures from each year of marriage
we had a nice time celebrating with our families and a few friends

olivia's 1st birthday
our last baby turned one earlier this month and of course we celebrated her first year with a party! i decided on just an absolutely girlie party. mint green, pink and gold. bows, polka dots, glitter and hearts with a little vintage flair because i LOVE vintage......can't get much more girlie than that! i was inspired by michael
miller's glitz line of fabric which i picked up quite a few yards of at rainbow's end qulit shop in dunedin! i was sooooo excited they had the fabric because it was sold out online until july. i sketched a dress and picked out the fabrics and my amazing mom made it! i made olivia a bib and hat set for when she did her cake and it turned out pretty darling. if you want any diys on any of the party decore let me know and i will put one together! lets be honest though you only want to see the pictures....
