new years eve mini

we started a new tradition last year with our kids of having a fancy dinner party with them to the ring in the new year, complete with the pretty dresses, a photo booth and crowns and horns!
i used my fuji instax mini camera to capture the fun. after new years eve i found a cute wallet at wal mart and decided i could make a scrapbook of some sort with it.
so i cut out the inside wallet part and cut paper to fit, accordion folded it and glued it together and into the wallet. after that i just added my pictures and embellishments. i love how it turned out and its fun and purse sized!

wedded bliss album

if you read my blog (which is amazing since its way inconsistent!) you know i love heidi swapp! as a photographer i obviously love taking pictures and capturing memories, scrapbooking gives me an even more creative way to display those memories and make them a little bit more of a treasure! so when my sis- in-law's birthday was coming and i didn't know what to get her my brother suggested a picture or something. luckily i photographed their wedding last year and had several hundred pictures to choose from and heidi swapp came out with a re-release of some fave products and a few new ones at michaels...so brilliant idea, m,ake her a wedding scrapbook! off to michales and to sams club (for the prints) and a couple hours later i have  a great gift customized with heidi swapp color shine in tinsel and mustard (which were also the wedding colors!) and some other papers and fun embellishments and i put 60 pictures in it!

i tend to just print my faves and choose which to use along the way when i create...but i didn't know what to do with a few left over pictures that i still loved so i put them i a pocket hot glued to the back inside cover of the album.

i love how it turned out....if i had a little more time i would have added more stuff and journaling but i ran out of time!

thanks heidi swapp for always having amazing products and inspiration!

sew paper!

so i made 3 of these albums in a week! they are addictive!
there are pages and pockets, and ribbon trim, oh my! they were so fun to put together.
i picked paper and sewed them right sides out along the top and bottom, folded them, in half and then opened it and zig zag stitched up the center...and tada, a book!
i made pages that pulled out if the pockets for hidden journaling or more pictures.
this one is from a baby belly session i did, and then i left half the book empty for them to add pictures of the new baby!
i used anna griffin paper and embellishments, house of 3 papers and some other random pretty things in my stash, and lots of ribbon!
the other two i made were a baby book one that was completely blank and a wedding gift one for documenting a couples first year!
