purse mirror turned into a mini album...

so i found this so cute polka dot mirror for your purse at forever 21...it was too cute not to buy, it had polka dots and a bow!

i knew right away i wasn't going to use it for it's created purpose...i knew i wanted to do something scrapbooky (i'm sure that's not a word but i do that alot) with it.

so i bet you can guess but i took out some heidi swapp sugar chic stuff and some "vintage" heidi swapp stuff i have been hoarding, i mean saving, lol!

and i ended up with this little cutie...

crafty wall hanging for grandma

a wall hanging for my mom's sewing room...

i really love how this turned out, i bought some fabric, a pattern (i got a costume one of like a dress from the 1800's so there would be a lot of pattern paper to cut up) some metallic thread, ric rac trim & white puff ball trim, and a turquoise tape measure.

i traced one of each of the kids hands onto the pattern. cut them out and sewed them onto a 7 x 7 inch square of fabric and then on the back of each kids hand they drew a picture and wrote something except i did nessa's.
i sewed them all together using the tape measure cut up.

i also stamped the "we love you sew much" onto fabric ripped it into strips and sewed it on as well, added some paper doilies, and a tape measure bow which i love! i used a heidi swapp instaframe on it as well

sew paper!

so i made 3 of these albums in a week! they are addictive!
there are pages and pockets, and ribbon trim, oh my! they were so fun to put together.
i picked paper and sewed them right sides out along the top and bottom, folded them, in half and then opened it and zig zag stitched up the center...and tada, a book!
i made pages that pulled out if the pockets for hidden journaling or more pictures.
this one is from a baby belly session i did, and then i left half the book empty for them to add pictures of the new baby!
i used anna griffin paper and embellishments, house of 3 papers and some other random pretty things in my stash, and lots of ribbon!
the other two i made were a baby book one that was completely blank and a wedding gift one for documenting a couples first year!
